Free your breath to free your voice. An exploration of how you breathe and how that can affect your vocal presence.

Ben Parsons
In this practical workshop, we will use mindfulness techniques and the Feldenkrais Method to help you sense how you breathe in your body.
You will learn to sense restrictions and habits. And you will explore different breathing patterns which can allow the breathing to move beyond these limitations. When the inner anchors of fixed breathing habits and posture are felt and sensed, they can be released. Then your voice can fulfil its potential.
At the end of the session, we will put the voice to use to discover what part of our voice range has already changed in the course of the session, and what part has the potential to change in the future.
About Ben Parsons
Aged 22, I suffered a catastrophic loss of my ability to write due to overuse during a period of extreme examination stress. My ‘writer’s cramp’ was a dystonia, similar to ‘mouse hand’, ‘tennis elbow’, and even visual, voice and postural dysfunction. Dystonia affects specific movement functions and often comes from repetitive overuse.
After a 16 year odyssey of exploration and trying many therapies, I finally discovered somatic awareness and the Feldenkrais Method. As a result, I got 99% of my writing function back, and took 100% control of my well-being.
To save others the long years it took me to find a solution, I became a Somatic Movement and Feldenkrais Method coach. I currently live and work in Potsdam, near Berlin.
Souverän auftreten – mit Präsenz und Ausstrahlung überzeugen

Mila Siebeneicher

On stage we play by the rules: Sad story? Cry and weep. Success story? Cheer and celebrate.

Christian Riegel
But that’s not how stories are always told off-stage when the narrator has already moved on. What if hindsight led to a lesson? If we earned a literal reframing? And all that assumes the narrator is not even trying to trick us…
In this workshop, we explore what can happen when the emotions of story and storytelling don’t match.
We keep the audience on their toes while we play with subtle hints and tremendous expectations. Is it lying to tell how we THOUGHT it was?
After this workshop, attendees will have explored an additional dimension of storytelling: hindsight. They will be able to endow their narrators with a personal point of view, liberated from „the moment“. By incorporating this, audience expectations can be further controlled and toyed with.
About Christian Riegel
A storyteller with many faces, Christian Riegel owns a piece of paper calling him a doctor of science, business cards introducing him as engineer, and ten years of experience in improvised comedy.
A trainer once told him that there’s no shame in fulfilling the audience’s expectations. “Do this or the exact opposite. But that’s more difficult to pull off.”
With his bag of stories and a passion for telling them, he loves exploring the Toastmasters stage and the possibilities of bending and breaking expectations to make content and delivery shine.
Wie gründe ich einen Toastmasters-Club?

Markus Krause

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our presentations captured undivided attention instead of competing with laptops and mobile devices for focus?
In this workshop, we’ll conduct a small experiment demonstrating the captivating power of stories. Imagine beginning a presentation with „Six years ago“ and witnessing an instant shift in attention—heads turning from screens to the speaker. Stories uniquely connect us, transforming mundane business messages into compelling narratives that engage and resonate.
